Obituary of Dorothy Heslep

Dorothy Florence Heslep Visitation was held for Dorothy Florence Heslep of Elsberry, MO from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Following visitation, burial was at St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Mrs. Heslep, 89, died Monday morning, November 8, 2004 at Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born January 13, 1915 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late William and Johanna Hill Fizer. She was employed for a number of years as a worker for Cuba Shoe, retiring in 1977. Besides her parents, William and Johanna Fizer, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters; one son, Allen "Sonny" Heslep, who died March 1, 1998; and one grandson, Allen Heslep, who died in July 1998. Survivors include one son, Vernon "Butch" Heslep and his wife, Sally, of Mount Angel, OR; one daughter-in-law, Virginia "Jan" Heslep of O'Fallon, MO; seven grandchildren: Steven Heslep, Tyrone Heslep, Richard Heslep, Don Wertenburger, Susan Gilbreath, Lisa Ameis, and Janet Porter; and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Joe Fizer and Jim Fizer, both of St. Louis; one sister, Jo Ann Burk and her husband, Mel, of St. Charles County, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
