P. Albert Pauls, Jr. Funeral services for Percy Albert Pauls, Jr. of Warrenton, MO were held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Jason Samuel, pastor of the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Lake Saint Louis, MO, officiated with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Pauls, 72, died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born March 1, 1932 in St. Louis he was the son of the late Percy Albert and Elsie C. Baker Pauls. He graduated in 1950 from high school in St. Louis. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy from November 3, 1950 until he was honorably discharged on September 1, 1954. While he was stationed in Boston, MA he met Barbara-Ann Littlefield and they were united in marriage on April 1, 1953 in Malden, MA. During his Navy career, he served on the USS Columbus and the USS Salem. He earned an Associate Degree from Northeastern University in Cambridge, MA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 22 years, Barbara-Ann Pauls, who died May 11, 1975. He was married again on June 19, 1976 in Malden, MA to Jessie Margaret Edwards. He was employed for many years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1991. After returning to Missouri in the early 1990s, Mr. and Mrs. Pauls made their home in Warrenton, MO. He was a member of the Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Lake Saint Louis, MO and formerly attended the Grace Episcopal Church in Clarksville, MO. He was an honorary member of the Fraternal Order of Sheriffs and an honorary Deputy of Norfolk County, MA. Mr. Pauls was a member of the VFW Post in Warrenton, and the American Postal Workers Local in St. Louis. Besides his parents, Percy and Elsie Pauls, and his first wife, Barbara-Ann Pauls, he was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Kirby, and one half brother, Charles Alexander. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Jessie Pauls of Warrenton; one son, James Pauls and his wife, Joan, of Peabody, MA; one daughter, Robin Smith and her husband, Robert, of Eolia, MO; and one grandson, Danny Pauls. He also leaves two sisters: Gay Gallino and her companion, Joseph Stewart, of Winfield, MO, and Mary Zichler and her husband, Russell, of Stanton, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
