Obituary of June Sitton Burkamp

June Sitton Burkamp Funeral services for Violet June Sitton Burkamp of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Winfield First Baptist Church in Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, church pastor, officiated with burial in New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Russell Sitton, Kurt Sitton, Wesley Sitton, Herbie Hooks, J.R. Dixon and Donald Lee Presley. Mrs. Burkamp, 84, died Monday evening, October 25, 2004 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born February 27, 1920 in Alton, IL, she was the daughter of the late Lee Alva and Gladys Huffstetter Presley. She was united in marriage on November 1, 1936 in St. Charles to Russell Day Sitton. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1969. She married again on August 15, 1976 in Winfield to Enoch Douglas Burkamp. She was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church in Winfield. Besides her parents, Lee and Gladys Presley, and her first husband, Russell Sitton, she was preceded in death by five brothers: Stanley Emerald Presley, Vernon Presley, Norman Presley, Donald Presley and Ralph Presley, who died as a child; one son, Russell Eugene Sitton; one daughter, Sharon Rose Sitton; and her second husband, Enoch Burkamp, who died May 16, 1983. Survivors include two sons: Donald Wayne Sitton and his wife, Anna Mae, of Foley, MO, and Ronald Dean Sitton and his wife, Connie, of Moscow Mills, MO; two daughters: Jeanette Hooks of Winfield and Barbara Dixon and her husband, John, of Winfield; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
