Obituary of Anna Belle Davis

Anna Belle Davis Funeral services for Anna Belle Davis of Eolia, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Marvin Braungardt officiated with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were DeLane Hammett, Warren Henry, Jim Noah, Cletus Blackwell, Bryan Davis, and Paul LaBanca. Mrs. Davis, 82, died Monday morning, October 4, 2004 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born February 18, 1922 in rural Elsberry, she was the daughter of the late John Samuel and Jessie Frances Holt Norton Jamison. She was united in marriage on October 6, 1940 in Elsberry to Vernon Wilson Davis. She was a 1939 graduate of Paynesville High School. She was employed for a number of years as a seamstress at Bobbin Along, retiring in 1982. She was a lifetime member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church near Elsberry. Besides her parents, John and Jessie Jamison, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernon Davis, who died June 15, 2001. Survivors include one son, Robert "Bob" Davis and his wife, Donna, of Eolia; one daughter, Betty Cohoon and her husband, Charles, of Elsberry; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandson. She also leaves two sisters: Dorothy Brown of Lonedell, MO, and Willie Utz of Shelbina, MO; one brother, John Jamison, Jr. of Louisiana, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
