Obituary of Joseph Parrinello

Joseph Anthony Parrinello Funeral services for Joseph Anthony Parrinello of Elsberry, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Garry McCrackin, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, MO, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Mr. Parrinello, 79, died early Tuesday morning, August 24, 2004 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born September 17, 1924 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Antonio and Gaetana Parrinello. He served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II from January 27, 1943 until October 25, 1945. While serving his country, he attended radio school at Texas A & M in College Station, TX. He was united in marriage on December 11, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to Thelma A. Haefner. He was employed for a number of years as a postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Besides his parents, Antonio and Gaetana Parrinello, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Mickey McAdoo and Josephine Brown; and his beloved wife, Thelma A. Parrinello, who died June 10, 1996. Survivors include one son, Michael E. Parrinello and his wife, Belinda, of Silex, MO; three daughters: Sharon L. Gleba and her husband, Rich, of O'Fallon, MO, Robyn L. Wehde and her husband, Neil, of Elsberry, and Terri L. Hanlon and her husband, Tim, of Elsberry; eight grandchildren: Richard Gleba, Jr., Michael Gleba, Michelle Parrinello, Kristy Parrinello, Matthew Parrinello, Jarred Wehde, Josh Wehde, and Timmy Hanlon; and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Gleba. He also leaves one sister, Ann Santa of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
