Betty June Walden Graveside services for Betty June Walden of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Meredosia, IL, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at Oak Wood Cemetery in Greenfield, IL. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of the Foley Holiness Church, officiated. Mrs. Walden, 65, died early Thursday morning, July 29, 2004 at Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born November 21, 1938 in Meredosia, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Howard and Alice Goforth Hyatt. She was united in marriage in August 1993 in Jacksonville, IL to Wilbur R. Walden. She was employed for a number of years as a laborer for Burruss Seed in Arenzville, IL. Besides her parents, Marvin and Alice Hyatt, she was preceded in death by one brother, Skipper Hyatt; one sister, Barbara Hyatt; and her husband, Wilbur Walden. Survivors include one son, Gerald E. Hunter of Bluffs, IL; two daughters: Alice Ann Daugherty and her friend, Dave Beckman, of Baylis, IL, and Trudy Kay Jones and her husband, Gerald, of Elsberry; eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Dean Hyatt and his wife, Gerry, of Bluffs, IL, and Charles "Buster" Hyatt of Meredosia; one half-brother, Dewayne Smith of Moses, IL; two sisters: Shirley Barfield of Jacksonville, IL, and Mary Brown and her husband, Robert, of Meredosia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
