Obituary of Donald Lagemann

Donald Joe Lagemann A Mass of Christian burial for Donald Joe Lagemann of Silex, MO was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, Missouri. Father Robert Zinser, church pastor, officiated with burial in Auburn Cemetery near Silex. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Bryant, John Bryant, Chris Bailey, Danny Pieper, Derek Pieper, and Mark Colbert. Honorary pallbearers were Darren Pieper, Bryan Shramek, Alan Colbert, Bobby Cannon, Jamie Johnston, Mark Black, Ernie Painter, Rod Barnhill, Chris Gray and Craig Haverich. Mr. Lagemann, 29, died Monday, July 5, 2004 in a drowning accident at the family home near Silex. Born September 16, 1974 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of William G. and Vicki Ann Colbert Lagemann. He was a 1993 graduate of Clopton High School near Clarksville, MO. Following high school, he attended Culver Stockton College where he received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 1997. He was united in marriage on July 4, 1997 in Elsberry to Melinda Renee Haverich. He was employed as a juvenile officer for the 45th Judicial Circuit in Missouri. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, collecting sports memorabilia, and woodcarving. He was a coach for the Khorey League in Eolia, MO. He was a member of the Missouri Juvenile Justice Association and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Survivors include his beloved wife of 7 years, Melinda Lagemann of Silex, MO; one son, Austin Michael Lagemann of the home; and one daughter, Samantha Jo Lagemann also of the home. He also leaves his parents, Bill and Vicki Lagemann of Clarksville; one brother, Larry Lagemann and his wife, Susan, of Eolia; his paternal grandparents, Nick and Margaret Lagemann of Elsberry; his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Louise Colbert of Whiteside, MO; his father-in-law, Ron Haverich of Raytown, MO; his mother-in-law, Katinell Traynor and her husband, Marion, of Louisiana, MO; one sister-in-law, Elaine Gray and her husband, Chris, of Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Craig Haverich of Louisiana; two nieces: Lauren and Ashtyn Lagemann; two nephews: Evan Lagemann and Brendan Gray; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to Donald Lagemann Children's Educational Fund in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
