Obituary of Bessie Kline

Bessie Mae Kline Funeral services for Bessie Mae Kline of O'Fallon, MO, formerly of Old Monroe, MO, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull, pastor of the Foley Baptist Church, officiated with burial in St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were Robbie Cannon, Bryan Kline, Dewayne Kline, Jeremy Kline, Bradley Kline and Joshua Kline; honorary pallbearers were Andrew J. Cannon, Michael Kline, Jr. and John R. Cannon. Mrs. Kline, 71, died early Sunday morning, May 23, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born October 22, 1932 in Chesterfield, MO, she was the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Hazel Roberta Meyers Cannon. She was united in marriage on May 7, 1955 in Old Monroe to Marvin Monroe Kline. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO. Mrs. Kline was a former member and Worthy Matron of the Winfield Chapter #294 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She currently held dual memberships in Eastern Star Chapter #405 in Troy, MO and Chapter #665 in Plainview, IL. She was also a past Missouri District Deputy Grand Matron. Mrs. Kline was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe. Besides her parents, Jesse A. Cannon and Hazel R. Garner, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Tiffany Kline; and her beloved husband of almost 35 years, Marvin M. Kline who died February 23, 1990. Survivors include six sons: Robert Cannon and his wife, Becky, of Moscow Mills, MO, Rick Kline and his wife, Pam, of Wentzville, MO, David Kline of Moscow Mills, Michael Kline, Sr. and his wife, Elisha, of St. Peters, MO, Randy Kline and his wife, Shirley, of Moscow Mills, and James Kline of O'Fallon; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Jack Cannon and his wife, Lou, of Troy; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. An Eastern Star Memorial Service was held during the visitation at the funeral home with Troy Chapter #405 officiating.
