Obituary of Janet Patton

Janet J. Patton Funeral services for Janet J. Patton of Winfield, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Landon Patton, Rick Swengrosh, Joshua Pohlman, Allen Pohlman, Greg Bottoms and Greg Buthod. Mrs. Patton, 71, died Saturday morning, May 22, 2004 at St. Peters Manor in St. Peters, MO. Born March 31, 1933 in Hornersville, MO, she was the daughter of Vernon "Bully" and Lena Roach Jones. She was a 1951 graduate of Hornersville High School. She was united in marriage on March 25, 1951 in Piggott, AR to Lansing Milford Patton. She was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church in Winfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon "Bully" Jones; one brother, Bobby Jones; and her beloved husband of almost 49 years, Lansing Patton on March 7, 2000. Survivors include three sons: Laney Patton and his wife, Sally, of O'Fallon, MO, Lonnie Patton and his wife, Cindy, of Florissant, MO, and Landon Patton and his wife, Sharon, of St. Peters; four daughters: Cathy Bottoms and her husband, Ronald, of St. Peters, Paula Buthod and her husband, Greg, of Lee's Summit, MO, Jennifer Swengrosh and her husband, Rick, of O'Fallon, and Lisa Patton of Winfield; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She also leaves her mother, Lena Jones of Kennett, MO; two sisters: Joyce Payne and her husband Alton, of Rives, MO, and Donna Ragin and her husband, Blen, of Gobler, MO; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2004 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
