Obituary of Elmer Ray Kisner
Elmer Ray Kisner
Funeral Services for Elmer Ray Kisner of Winfield, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes will officiate with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be John Reynolds, Kendall Cranney, David Lee, Tom Hubbard, Tim Potthast and Jack Burkemper; and honorary pallbearers will be Todd Potthast, Chad Potthast and Kendall Ray Cranney.
Mr. Kisner, 74, passed away Wednesday night, November 19, 2014 at his home. Born February 13, 1940 in Corning, AR, he was the son of Elmer and Verna Battle Kisner. Ray graduated from Corning High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from September 5, 1957 until he was honorably discharged on August 4, 1961 as an E-3. He served his country again in the United States Air National Guard from May 18, 1974 until he was honorably discharged on November 12, 1991 as a Master Sergeant. Ray was united in marriage on October 24, 1981 in Winfield to Linda Kay Henry. Their home was blessed with three daughters: Stephanie, Regina and Dena. He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for Ford in Hazelwood, MO, retiring on July 30, 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Verna Kisner; one brother, Bill Kisner; and two sisters: Georgie Davis and Sylvia Polk.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years, Linda Kisner of Winfield; three daughters: Stephanie Potthast and her husband, Tim, of Kansas City, MO, Regina Reynolds and her husband, John, of Golden, CO and Dena Cranney and her husband, Kendall, of St. Peters, MO; and six grandchildren: Brenna, Todd, Chad, Jenna, Meagan and Kendall. He also leaves one brother, Larry Kisner and his wife, Judy, of Hot Springs, AR; one sister, Wilma Lewis of Poplar Bluff, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
