Obituary of Alvin Bauer

Alvin Louis Bauer A Mass of Christian burial for Alvin Louis Bauer of Old Monroe, MO was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, officiated with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Bauer, Ken Bauer, Tim Bauer, Neil Bauer, Joe Bauer, and John Bauer. Mr. Bauer, 82, died Friday evening, March 5, 2004 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born July 1, 1921 in Old Monroe, he was the son of the late Clem and Emma Hemmer Bauer. He was united in marriage on June 15, 1949 in Old Monroe to Ruth Lucille Harke. A farmer most of his life, he also worked as a truck driver and an excavator. He was a member of the Old Monroe Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and Teamster Local #133 in St. Louis, MO. He was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Besides his parents, Clem and Emma Bauer, he was preceded in death by an infant sister and one brother, Harold Bauer. Survivors include his beloved wife, Ruth Bauer of Old Monroe; six sons: William Bauer of Winfield, MO, Kenneth Bauer and his wife, Deborah, of Foristell, MO, Timothy Bauer of Moscow Mills, MO, Neil Bauer and his wife, Julie, of Old Monroe, Joseph Bauer and his wife, Genia, of Old Monroe, and John Bauer of Old Monroe; five daughters: Mary Kay Kaimann and her husband, Charles, of Troy, MO, Jane Runge and her husband, Tony, of Winfield, Carol Hoelting and her husband, Phil, of Moscow Mills, Jennifer Nordmann and her husband, William, of Old Monroe, and Donna Kientzy and her husband, Rick, of Silex, MO; 37 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters: Elvera Rothermich of Flint Hill, MO, and Loyola Bauer of O'Fallon, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 07, 2004 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
