Evelyn Lucille Burkemper A Mass of Christian burial for Evelyn Lucille Burkemper of Old Monroe, MO was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, officiated with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers were Eric Dobelmann, Greg Lenk, Wade Burkemper, Kurt Smith, Justin Treneley, and Jeff Treneley. Mrs. Burkemper, 85, died Sunday evening, February 29, 2004 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy, MO. Born January 7, 1919 in Lincoln County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Eleanor Hardnache Albers. She was united in marriage on May 5, 1945 in Troy to Gilbert Herman Burkemper. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Besides her parents, Herman and Eleanor Albers, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Eleanor Pettzman, Clara Wilmes, and Doris Henry; four brothers: Wilfred Albers, Arthur Albers, Bernard Albers, and John Albers; and her beloved husband, Gilbert Burkemper, who died March 26, 1978. Survivors include one son, Allen Eugene Burkemper and his wife, Norma, of Eldon, MO; four daughters: Marilyn Sue Whitnah and her husband, Richard, of St. Charles, MO, Judy Lenk and her husband, Leo, of Silex, MO, Linda Dobelmann and her husband, Marty, of Canyon City, CO, and Arlene Smith and her husband, David, of Old Monroe; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Charles Albers of Woodland, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004 with a Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
