Edna Carol Kitson Trower Funeral services for Edna Carol Kitson Trower of Winfield, MO were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Church of Christ in Troy, MO. Kenneth Ware, Pastor of Harvester Church of Church, officiated with burial in Winfield Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were David Hodges, Chris Davis, Matt Trower, Dale Colbert, Kurt Colbert and Chris Trower; honorary pallbearers were Daniel Trower, Jacob Trower and Robert Sapp. Mrs. Trower, 66, died early Thursday morning, February 26, 2004 at her home near Winfield. Born April 30, 1937 in Winfield, she was the daughter of William Henry and Ollie Faye Wise Kitson. She was united in marriage on July 9, 1960 in Troy to John Edger Trower. She held an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development. She was the former owner and director of the Best Friends Child Development Center in Winfield, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #405 in Troy, and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Trower was active with the Lincoln County Relay for Life, "Cajuns Against Cancer" team. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Troy. Besides her parents, Bill and Ollie Faye Kitson, she was preceded in death by one son, Gregory William Trower who died in 1981. Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 44 years, John Trower of Winfield; two sons: Ray Trower and his wife, Nona, of Troy, and Jim Trower of Foley, MO; two daughters: Gwen Hodges and her husband, David, and Lynn Davis and her husband, Chris, all of Winfield; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves two brothers: Richard Paul Kitson, Sr. and his wife, Shirley, of O'Fallon, MO, Lonnie E. Kitson of Fort Madison, IA; three sisters: Anna Naomi LaRue of Mexico, MO, Janice Sue Walton and her husband, Oscar, of Moscow Mills, MO, and Cheryl Kitson of Troy; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Lincoln County Relay for Life "Cajuns Against Cancer" team in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
