George Francis Burns
George Francis Burns, 56, of Elsberry, MO died Tuesday night, February 17, 2004 at his home near Elsberry. Born November 1, 1947 in Burlington, VT, he was the son of the late Frank Joseph and Isabelle May Fifle Burns. He graduated from Hemet High School in Hemet, CA. He served his country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army from December 28, 1966 until December 12, 1969. He was employed for a number of years as an aircraft painter for Transtate Airlines in St. Louis, MO. He was united in marriage on February 15, 2002 in Troy, MO to Kathryn Ann Phillips.
Besides his parents, Frank and Isabelle Burns, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Leon Phillips, who died February 9, 2004
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathryn Burns of Elsberry; one daughter, Angela Meadow Burns of Edmonds, WA; two step-sons: Damon Shane Jaeger and his wife, Amanda, of Palmyra, MO, and Dustin Drew Jaeger of Maryland Heights, MO; and one granddaughter
The family will receive friends for a celebration of Mr. Burns's life on Sunday, February 22, 2004 after 12:00 noon at the family home near Elsberry. Mr. Burns was cremated at Memorial Park Crematory in St. Louis, MO. Private interment of the cremated remains will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to SSM Hospice in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
