Obituary of MaryAnn Catherine McLain

MaryAnn C. McLain Funeral Services for MaryAnn Catherine McLain of Elsberry, MO will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Fr. Rich Rath, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn Turnbull, Rosco Wilburn, Curtis Shipley, Ryan Parker, Ricky Rose, Steve Wilder and Gary Walcott. Mrs. McLain, 89, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 12, 2014 at her home near Elsberry. Born June 2, 1925 in St. Libory, IL, she was the daughter of John G. and Mary Theresa Hummert Behrmann. MaryAnn was united in marriage on August 16, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Leslie Herman McLain. To this union, four children were born: Karen, Judy, Tim and Tom. She was a loving housewife. MaryAnn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Behrmann; one son, Thomas Leslie McLain, who died September 18, 1984; five sisters: Eleanora Luechtefeld, Esther Middendorf, Adella Wombacher, Mildred Kramer and Lillian Mertens; and two brothers: Robert Behrmann and Ralph Behrmann. Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Leslie McLain; their children: Karen Walcott and her husband, Gary, of Winfield, MO, Judy Wilburn of Silex, MO and Tim McLain and his wife, Brenda, of Foley, MO; nineteen grandchildren; forty-six great-grandchildren and eight great, great-grandchildren. MaryAnn also leaves three sisters: Ruth Nobe, Florence Lickenbrock and Gladys Seering, all of IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
