Obituary of Elsie Heitman

Elsie F. Heitman A Mass of Christian Burial for Elsie Frances Heitman of Old Monroe, MO was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Father Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, officiated with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Music for the Mass was provided by Angie Turnbull and Rich Herman. Serving as pallbearers were Chad Smith, Adam Jones, Ted Klotz, Greg Klotz, Dani Clay and Kerry Klotz. Mrs. Heitman, 81, died Saturday morning, December 27, 2003 at her home near Old Monroe. Born January 25, 1922 in Old Monroe, MO, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Burkemper Hoelting. She was united in marriage on November 24, 1945 in Old Monroe to Lawrence "Larry" J. Heitman. She served as the Postmaster in Old Monroe for many years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe and the Ladies Sodality at Immaculate Conception Church. Besides her parents, George and Rose Hoelting, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Hubert Hoelting, Ralph Hoelting and George Hoelting; two sisters: Rosalyn "Sis" Rankin and Genevieve Stark; her beloved husband of almost 53 years, Larry Heitman, who died October 11, 1998; and their youngest daughter, Lynn Klotz, who died September 17, 2001. Survivors include two daughters: Patricia Smith of O'Fallon, MO, and Kathleen Jones and her husband, Michael "Hoot", of Winfield, MO; five grandchildren: Dani Clay, Chad Smith, Ted and Greg Klotz, and Adam Jones and two great-grandchildren: Samantha and Madelyn Clay. She also leaves four brothers: Albert Hoelting of Shawnee, KS, Art Hoelting of St. Charles, MO, Vernon Hoelting and his wife, Jackie, of St. Peters, MO, and Jim Hoelting and his wife, Mary Ann, of Old Monroe; three sisters: Connie Bine and her husband, Kenny, of Wentzville, MO, Arvie Grote and her husband, Wayne, of Wentzville, and Delores Ell of St. Peters; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. A Rosary/Prayer Service was held at 6:00 p.m. during the visitation.
