Obituary of Derwin Birkhead

Derwin LeRoy Birkhead Memorial services for Derwin LeRoy Birkhead of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan will officiate. Private graveside services were held on Friday, December 26, 2003 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with Rev. Sue Jackson officiating. Mr. Birkhead, 47, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at his home in Winfield. Born November 19, 1956 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Paul P. and Muriel Haynes Birkhead. He was a 1975 graduate of Winfield High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from September 12, 1975 until September 5, 1979. He was employed for a number of years as a machinist for Normandy Machine Company in Troy, MO. He was a member of the Winfield First Baptist Church in Winfield. Survivors include his son, Michael P. Birkhead of Winfield; his parents, Paul and Muriel Birkhead of Winfield; his sister, Yvonne Turnbull and her husband, Ron, of Curryville, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
