Obituary of Dennis Lee Goins

Dennis Lee Goins Funeral Services for Dennis Lee Goins of Troy, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Troy Bible Holiness Church in Troy. Rev. Gary Jackson, church pastor, will officiate with the assistance of Rev. Troy Bolen of MI. Burial will be private for the family in Troy City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Goins, Ron Goins, Lewis Goins, Dave Goins, Jim Beck and Brian Chesser. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Frazier, Gary Clines and Wayne Keith. Mr. Goins, 60, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2014 at his home. Born March 23, 1954 in Garnett, KS, he was the son of Dilwyn Lee and Dorothy Susan Knoblock Goins. He attended Troy R-3 Schools in Lincoln County, MO and IBC in Independence, KS. Dennis was united in marriage on March 12, 1977 in Troy to Sandra Gail Frazier. To this union, three children were born: Jeremy Scott, Laura Kay and Rita Kay. He was self-employed as a pest control operator for Pesky Critters, Inc. Dennis was a member of Troy Bible Holiness Church where he served on the board. He also served on the board of Troy Bible Holiness Camp and School and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Kay Goins who died in 1982; and his parents, Dilwyn and Susie Goins. Survivors include his beloved wife of 37 years, Sandra Goins; his son, Jeremy Goins of Troy; and his daughter, Rita Bartolomeo and her husband, Jonathan, also of Troy. Dennis also leaves three brothers: Larry Goins and his wife, Bonnie, of St. Joseph, MO, Ronald Goins and his wife, Lisa, of Independence and Lewis Goins and his wife, Janelle, of Oswego, KS; one sister, Diana Sue Hunter of Sarasota, FL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO.
