Charles Gilbert Willmann A Mass of Christian burial for Charles Gilbert Willmann of Troy, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Father Bill Baier, church pastor, officiated with burial in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Willmann, 87, died Thursday afternoon, November 13, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born February 20, 1916 in Highland, IL, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Jacober Willmann. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from January 4, 1943 until November 7, 1945. He was united in marriage on June 28, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Ella Marie Alexander. He was employed for a number of years as an assembly line worker for Rexall Drug Package in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the VFW in St. Louis, MO and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Besides his parents, Charles and Mary Willmann, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Herbert Willmann, Jimmy Willmann, Gus Willmann, and Wilbert Willmann; two sisters: Amanda Weymoth and Marcella Koberezcy; and his beloved wife, Ella Marie Willmann, who died July 13, 1993. Survivors include his daughter, Donna DiFatta of Elsberry; one granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, November 17, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry.
