Obituary of Jeffrey Armistead

Jeffrey Lynn Armistead, Sr. Funeral services for Jeffrey Lynn Armistead, Sr. of Foley, MO were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Richard Turnbull, pastor of Foley Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Armistead, Jeffrey Armistead Jr., Tim Shepherd, Billy Cheshire Sr., Billy Cheshire Jr., Jimmy Howdeshell, Dan Davis, and Tim Porter. Mr. Armistead, 56, died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital in Troy, MO. Born January 11, 1947 in St. Clair, MO, he was the son of the late David and Mildred Headrick Armistead. He was a 1964 graduate of Sullivan High School. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1968. He was united in marriage on September 11, 1976 in Moscow Mills, MO, to Violet Ruth Quillian. He was a member of the Elsberry VFW Post #9064 in Elsberry. Besides his parents, David and Mildred Armistead, he was preceded in death by one brother, David Armistead; and his beloved wife of almost 19 years, Ruth Armistead, who died July 19, 1995. Survivors include two sons: Michael Edward Armistead and his wife, Theresa, of Foley, MO and Jeffrey L. Armistead, Jr. of Fulton, MO; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves one sister, Shirley Carolyon and her husband, Joe, of Sullivan, MO; one sister-in-law, Pat (Mrs. David) Armistead also of Sullivan; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Memorials may be made to the Jeffrey L.
