Norma Helen Beck Funeral services for Norma Helen Beck of Chillicothe, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at The Baptist Home in Chillicothe, MO. Funeral services will also be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. James Morgan (her grandson), pastor of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, will officiate both services with Steve Jones, former administrator of The Baptist Home, assisting in Chillicothe. Interment will be in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Mrs. Beck, 84, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at the Missouri Baptist Home in Chillicothe. She is survived by her husband, Clyde, also a resident of The Baptist Home in Chillicothe. Born May 9, 1919 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late William and Carrie Mae Wideman Meyers. She was a 1937 graduate of Jennings High School in St. Louis County, MO. She was united in marriage on May 18, 1939 in St. Louis, MO to Clyde Herbert Beck. She and her husband, Clyde, made their home in Winfield, MO between 1951 and 1968, where she was a member the Winfield Baptist Church and very active as a Counselor in Girl's Auxiliary and a Sunday School teacher. While Mr. and Mrs. Beck lived in Liberty, MO between 1968 and 1997, she was a volunteer worker at the Liberty Hospital. In 1997, Mrs. Beck and her husband Clyde returned to the Winfield area to be near their daughter. Between 1997 and 2000, Mrs. Beck and her husband were members of the Winfield Baptist Church and the New Salem Baptist Church near Winfield. In 2000, Mrs. Beck and her husband became residents' of The Missouri Baptist Home in Chillicothe and members of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Besides her parents, William and Carrie Meyers, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Albert and Raymond Cook; and two sisters: Della Hinch and Effie Snodgrass. Other survivors include two sons: Stephen Beck of Columbia, MO, and Robert "Bob" Beck and his wife, Sharon, of Gladstone, MO; two daughters: Elaine Graf and her husband, Paul, of Warrenton, MO, and Carol Railey and her husband, Charles, of Foley, MO; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at The Baptist Home in Chillicothe and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
