Obituary of Cornelia Richardson

Cornelia May (Ralph) Richardson Funeral services for Cornelia May (Ralph) Richardson of Hayward, CA, formerly of Elsberry, MO, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Dale Edmondson of San Leandro, CA, officiated with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Elsberry. Mrs. Richardson, 81, died early Monday morning, October 20, 2003 at St. Francis Extended Care in Hayward, CA. Born July 8, 1922 in Pike County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Fred Burton and Myrtle E. Howes Ralph. She was united in marriage on April 9, 1960 in Granite City, IL to Harold Joseph Richardson. She was employed for a number of years as a machinist for St. Louis Tool and Dye Company in St. Louis, MO. In later years, she was employed by the State of Missouri in food service, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Machinist's Union in St. Louis, the Order of the Eastern Star in South St. Louis, MO; and a former member of the Elsberry First Baptist Church. Besides her parents, Fred and Myrtle Ralph, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald Ralph, Clyde Ralph, and Curtis Ralph; one son, William Joseph Richardson; and her beloved husband, Harold Joseph Richardson. Survivors include two sisters: Nancy Wojton of Brookings, OR, and Alice Edmondson and her husband, Dale, of San Leandro, CA; eight nephews, one niece, great nephews, great nieces, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
