Bernice S. Hines Funeral services for Bernice S. Hines of Old Monroe, MO were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Jeanne Lischer, pastor of St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe, officiated with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO Mrs. Hines, 87, died Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2003 at the Lincoln County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Troy, MO. Born October 15, 1915 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Augusta Wenzell Wedemeyer. She was united in marriage on June 29, 1941 in Wright City, MO to William Madison Hines. She was employed for a number of years at the Bank of Old Monroe, retiring as head teller in 1972. She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #294 in Winfield and later Chapter #405 in Troy. She was a past Matron of the Winfield Chapter; and served as a District Deputy Grand Matron. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe. Besides her parents, George and Augusta Wedemeyer, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 44 years, Bill Hines, who died May 23, 1985. Survivors include two sons: John Hines of Old Monroe, and Jerry Hines and his wife, Elaine, of Troy; two grandsons: William Hines and his wife, Shelley, of Winfield, and Dale Hines of Silex, MO; two granddaughters: Vanessa Kientzy-Payne and Lily Kientzy-Payne, both of Troy; two great-grand children: Eli and Emily Hines of Winfield; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O.
