Obituary of Melissa Wolfe

Melissa DeAnn Wolfe Funeral services for Melissa DeAnn Wolfe of Elsberry, MO were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Centennial United Methodist Church in Elsberry. Rev. Brenda Cockrell, church pastor, officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Miss Wolfe, 26, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at her home in Elsberry. Born October 29, 1976 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Wendell Houston and Charlene Steele Wolfe. She was a 1995 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was the secretary and lay minister for Centennial United Methodist Church where she was a member. Miss Wolfe was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Isabell Steele; her paternal grandparents, Obie and Dorothy Wolf; her father, Wendell H. Wolfe, who died November 30, 1997; and one sister, Wendy Wolfe, who died as an infant on September 1, 1975. Survivors include her mother, Charlene Wolfe of Elsberry; one aunt, Marsleen Kerr and her husband, Curtis Sr., of Elsberry; one uncle, Milford Steele of Elsberry; three great-aunts, Gertrude Chapman of Springfield, IL, Lula Bell Webb of Paynesville, MO, and Martha Houston of Louisiana, MO; one great-great aunt, Wanda White of St. Louis, MO; one great-great uncle, Luther Steele of Wright City, MO; several cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
