Obituary of William Cunningham

William Joel "Bill" Cunningham Memorial services for William Joel "Bill" Cunningham of Elsberry, MO were held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mr. Cunningham, 65, died Sunday afternoon, July 27, 2003 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana, MO. Born February 15, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late William Bryan and Beulah Mary Whitby Cunningham. A long-time resident of the Elsberry area, he was a 1956 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was employed for a number of years as a control-room supervisor at Dundee near Louisiana. He later worked at Forrest Keeling Nursing near Elsberry. He was a life-member of the National Riffle Association. Besides his parents, William and Beulah Cunningham, he was preceded in death by one son, Brent Taylor Cunningham in 1986, and his son-in-law, Ben Sherrow in 2001. Survivors include one son, David Cunningham and his wife, Julie, of Eolia, MO; one daughter, Debra K. Sherrow of Elsberry; and seven grandchildren: Hanna Cunningham, Bethany Cunningham, Eli Cunningham, Zachary Carnes, Amy Sherrow, Brenna Sherrow, and Mercedes Sherrow. He also leaves one sister, Joan Eads and her husband, Roger, of Eldon, MO; one aunt, Frieda Tesarek of Elsberry; one nephew, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
