Obituary of Robert Taylor

Robert L. "Bobby" Taylor A Memorial Service for Robert L. "Bobby" Taylor of Elsberry, MO was held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Doug Kraus, pastor of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Florissant, MO, officiated with burial of the cremated remains in the Middletown Cemetery in Middletown, MO. Mr. Taylor, 66, died early Tuesday morning, July 15, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Born August 12, 1936 in Middletown, he was the son of Leon Marvin and Glennarice Utterback Taylor. He was a 1956 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was employed at the Wells-Lamont glove factory in Elsberry, and later worked for Hausgen TV Repair. Mr. Taylor was employed for many years as a lab technician at Monsanto Corp. in O'Fallon, MO. He was one of the first Elsberry 911 Dispatchers when the system was set up in 1983. He was a self-taught artist, and was also an amateur radio operator. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Leon M. Taylor. Survivors include his mother, Glennarice Carpenter of Florissant; one brother, Walter Fay Taylor and his wife, Rhonda, of Arvada, CO; one sister, Kathleen Jogena Fabrio and her husband, Ronald, of St. Charles, MO; two half-brothers: Rice Edward Carpenter of St. Peters, MO, and Marvin Leon Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, of Fort Collins, CO; five half-sisters: Kitty Ellen Galley and her husband, Jerry, of Soldotna, AK, Kathy Helen Stevens and her husband, Mike, of Lakewood, CO, Karen Leigh Anderson and her husband, Al, of Polk City, IA, Kay Ann Teitz and her husband, Chuck, of Dumont, CO, and Karma Jean Gaw and her husband, Ed, of Bowling Green, MO; one uncle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 3:00 p.m. until time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital in care of Carter Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
