Obituary of Tina Ricks Irvin

Tina Ricks Irvin Funeral services for Tina Ricks Irvin of Brashear, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Richard Turnbull, pastor of the Foley Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Winfield Cemetery. Ms. Irvin, 38, died Saturday morning, May 24, 2003 at her home near Brashear following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born July 11, 1964 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Vernon Ray and Beverly Carolyn Ricks Irvin. She graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1982 from Winfield High School. She attended Northeast Missouri State College in Kirksville, MO earning her Bachelors Degree in English Literature in 1986 and her Masters Degree in 1987. Ms. Irvin taught English at Knox County High School in Edina, MO for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Covenant Life Fellowship Church in Kirksville, MO. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Oliver and Louise Irvin; her maternal grandparents, Argent and Josephine Ricks; and her brother, Eric Ray Irvin, who died on May 26, 1995. Survivors include her parents, Vernon "Dick" and Beverly Irvin of Brashear; three uncles and two aunts; and a great-aunt and great-uncle. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003 until time of the service at the funeral home.
