Obituary of James David Gifford

James David Gifford Funeral services for James David Gifford of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Carter Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Lewis Hunt of Winfield will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Mr. Gifford, 46, passed away Monday morning, January 16, 2012 at his home in Old Monroe. Born June 4, 1965 in Troy, MO, he was the son of James LeRoy and Rita Faye Tippit Gifford. He worked in commercial construction as a welder/boilermaker for Serv-tech in Beaumont, TX for several years, retiring in 1992. He is preceded in death by his father, James L. Gifford in 2003. Survivors include his son, James Edward Kelly of Winfield; and his mother, Rita Gifford of Old Monroe. He also leaves two brothers: Robert LeRoy Gifford of Old Monroe, and Brian Keith Gifford of Vidor, TX; three sisters: Rhonda Faye Schulte and her husband, Todd, of Winfield, Amy Arlene Pyle and her husband, Mike, of Winfield, and Lisa Michelle Walcott, also of Winfield; one brother-in-law, Ken Walcott of Winfield; one sister-in-law, Diane Gifford of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
