Obituary of Bessie Irene LaBrayere

Bessie Irene LaBrayere Memorial Committal Services for Bessie Irene LaBrayere of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Chapel in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Deacon Paul Stackle will officiate. Mrs. LaBrayere, 89, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2011 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born August 24, 1922 in Rosebud, AR, she was the daughter of Cecil Raymond and Ada Florence Anderson Goddard. She graduated from Soldane High School in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage on January 10, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to Glen Thomas LaBrayere. This union was blessed with one daughter, Lynn. Mrs. LaBrayere was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Ada Goddard; three sisters: Pauline Link, Louise Fore and Florence Jane Pogue; one brother, Cecil Goddard; one brother-in-law, Norman Whitson; and her beloved husband of 67 years, Glen LaBrayere who died September 29, 2010. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Ryan of Cottleville, MO; two grandchildren: Stacie Campbell and her husband, Brad of Vacaville, CA and David Ryan of Florissant, MO; and two great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Erin Campbell. She also leaves two sisters: Lorene Gailey of Greensboro, NC and Bobbie Whitson of Oxnard, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
