Obituary of Virginia Margaret Wolk

Virginia M. Wolk A Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Margaret Wolk of Winfield, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Father Phil Krahman, church pastor will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Callaway, Jeremy Stobart, Justin Stobart, Joshua Stobart, Matthew Stobart, Kevin Stobart and Lawrence Stuckmeyer. Mrs. Wolk, 94, passed away Friday afternoon, November 25, 2011 at the Silex Community Care Center in Silex, MO. Born June 2, 1917 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Harry and Margaret Zimmerman Schramm. She was united in marriage on August 6, 1938 in St. Louis to Lawrence Joseph Wolk. This union was blessed with three daughters, Virginia, Lorraine and Barbara. Mrs. Wolk lived most of her life in St. Louis, moving to the Winfield area in 1992 to be near her daughter, Lorraine. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Margaret Schramm; four brothers: Charles Schramm, Gene Schramm, George Schramm and Harry Schramm, Jr.; two sisters: Marie Thomas and Dorothy Lux; two daughters: Barbara A. Stuckmeyer and Lorraine J. Stobart; one son-in-law, Alfred Stobart; and her beloved husband of 37 years, Lawrence Wolk who died October 18, 1975. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia L. Brooks and her husband, James, of Palatka, FL; one son-in-law, Richard Stuckmeyer of Lesterville, MO; twelve grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Robert Schramm and his wife, Theresa, of Troy, MO; one sister, Mary Beadle of Bonn Terre, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
