Obituary of Margaret Louise Holley

Margaret "Peggy" Louise Holley A mass of Christian Burial for Margaret "Peggy" Louise Holley of Troy, MO, formerly of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Fr. Phil Krahman, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Mrs. Holley, 86, passed away early Thursday morning, November 10, 2011 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy. Born June 17, 1925 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of James and Edith Shephard McCarthy. She was united in marriage on July 11, 1942 in St. Louis to John L. Holley. This union was blessed with five children: John, Michael, Patrick, Margie and Colleen. She worked for many years in light fixture manufacturing, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edith McCarthy; one son-in-law, John Holecek and her beloved husband of 65 years, John Holley who died February 18, 2008. Survivors include three sons: John Holley III and his wife, Mary Ann, of Wentzville, MO, Michael Holley of Corinth, MS, and Patrick Holley and his wife, Sue, of Des Peres, MO; two daughters: Margie Holecek of Old Monroe and Colleen Hupp and her husband, Jerry, of Winfield, MO; one sister, Bernice Dussold and her husband, John, of Jennings, MO; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield; and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at Immaculate Conception Church.
