Obituary of Fae Anna Cox

Fae Anna Cox Funeral Services for Fae Anna Cox of Eolia, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church and Rev. Duane Elmore will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will Gilbert Riffle, Samuel Elmore, Andrew Elmore, Eddie Miller, Ronnie Filsinger and Scott Riffle. Mrs. Cox, 78, passed away late Friday night, October 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born January 12, 1933 in the New Hope Community of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Allie Thurman and Ethyl D. Damron Riffle. She was united in marriage on March 26, 1949 in Foley, MO to Woodrow Wilson Cox. She was a housewife and a talented artist. She had a love for animals of all kinds and could be found hosting those that were left at her door. She also loved baking pies and cooking food for a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Ethyl Riffle; three brothers: Rodney Riffle, Irvin Riffle and John Riffle; one sister, Pat Stewart; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Riffle and Gertrude Riffle and her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Woodrow Cox who died September 14, 2008. Survivors include two brothers: Homer A. Riffle of Bowling Green, MO and Stephen L. Riffle and his wife, Brenda, of Sarcoxie, MO; two sisters-in-law: Berneta Riffle of Foley, MO and Eunice Riffle of Lake St. Louis; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Humane Society or Bible Holiness Church in Foley, where she attended in her later years, in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
