Obituary of Russell Eugene Lovelace

Russell Eugene Lovelace Funeral services for Russell Eugene Lovelace of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Bruce Chaulka, pastor of Hope Bible Church in O'Fallon, MO, and Rev. Brian Andrews, pastor of Mid-America Baptist Church in Winfield, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Beckemeyer, Dale Haler, Matt Meder, Jason Grant, Jimmy Fisher and Vincent Harke. Mr. Lovelace, 65, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 4, 2011 at his home near Winfield. Born March 14, 1946 in Paris, AR, he was the son of Henry Huston and Lydia Bell Scott Lovelace. He was a 1964 graduate of County Line High School in Ratcliff, AR. He was united in marriage on May 27, 1967 in Poteau, OK to Barbara Sue Graham. They were blessed with four children: Detta, Debra, Lyndal and Jason. He was employed for thirty years at General Motors in St. Louis and Wentzville, MO, retiring in 1997. He delivered and worked as relay driver for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in the Winfield area from 1976 until 2011. He was a salesman for Suntrup Motors in St. Peters, Mo where he was Salesman of the Year for 2009. He owned and operated American Flag Motors and The Flag Store near Winfield. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #2250 in Wentzville. He was a member of the Hope Bible Church in O'Fallon and special friend of the Mid America Baptist Church in Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lydia Lovelace; two brothers: Robert Lovelace and Leonard Lovelace; and one sister, Ruby Grigsby. Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara Lovelace of Winfield; two daughters: Detta Nelson and her husband, Ron, of Winfield, and Debra Bicker and her husband, Ron, of Troy, MO; two sons: Lyndal Lovelace and his wife, Michelle, of Kansas City, MO, and Jason Lovelace and his wife, Sara, of Winfield; nine grandchildren: Chris Nelson, Kyle and Megan Bicker, Madison, Logan, Drew and Annabelle Lovelace, and Cale and Camille Lovelace; and three great-grandchildren: McKenzie, Ella and Emma. He also leaves two sisters: Bertha Everett of Paris, AR, and Ruth Dorrough of Perry, MO; two special four-legged friends, Buttons and Bo; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
