Obituary of Frankie Bell Harding

Frankie Bell Harding, Sr. Funeral Services for Frankie Bell Harding, Sr. of Winfield, MO, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Rev. Jim Calvin will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery in Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Frankie Harding, Jr., Amy Myers, Randy Harding, Dexter Harding, Bill Harding, John Harding, Jack Harding, George Harding, Alfred Harding and Sam Harding. Mr. Harding passed away early Sunday morning, August 7, 2011 at his home in Winfield at the age of 78 years and 11months. Born September 7, 1932 in Auburn, Mo he was the son of Marion William and Elsie Lee Barnes Harding. He was united in marriage on December 27, 1952 in Walnut Ridge, AR to Mable Ann Tayon. This union was blessed with eleven children; Frankie, Jr., Roger, Amy, Randy, Dexter, Billy, John, Jack, George, Alfred and Sam. He served his country in the United States Army from January 15, 1953 until being honorably discharged on December 29, 1954. He then worked as a Production Mechanic for McDonnell Douglas; retiring in 1988. He was a 50 year member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, District Lodge No. 837. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Elsie Harding and one son, Roger Dale Harding Sr., who died May 4, 2005. He is also preceded by three brothers: Jim, John "J.T." and Joe; five sisters: Virginia Riffle, Earnetta Tolbert, Margie Gordon, Elsie Gordon and Norma Robinson; and his in-laws John and Florence Tayon, Ed Tayon, Clara Bell, Bill Dixon, Scott and Henry McClay, Clinton Kelly, Teel and Verdie Lefholz, Jess Wilson, Elsie and Russell Cardwell and Tommy Tayon. Survivors include is beloved wife of 58 years, Mable Harding of Winfield; nine sons: Frankie Harding,Jr., Randy Harding, Dexter Harding and his wife, Julie, Bill Harding and his wife, Jill and George Harding, all of Winfield, John Harding and his wife, Theresa of Troy, MO, Jack Harding of Bowling Green, MO, Alfred Harding and Sam Harding and his wife, Wendy all of Foley, MO; one daughter, Amy Myers of Winfield; twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He also leaves five sisters: Eileen Locklin and her husband, Billy, of Troy, Opal Dyer and her husband, Danny of Moscow Mills, Velma Calvin and her husband, Jim of Elsberry, Ann Gordon and her husband, Doyle of Foley and Edna Nickelson and her husband, Walter of Winfield; four sisters-in-law: Betty Harding of Elsberry, Bea Wilson, Rose Tayon and Della Tayon, all of Winfield; and three brothers-in-law Everett Gordon, Delmar Gordon and Gene Robinson. Mr. Harding also leaves many, many nieces, nephews, cousins by the dozens, other relatives and friends.
