Obituary of Shirley Ann Leiling

Shirley Ann Leiling A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley Ann Leiling of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Father Phil Krahman, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe. Mrs. Leiling, 75, passed away early Monday morning, June 27, 2011 at her home near Old Monroe. Born May 22, 1936 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of Hubert George and Irene Theresia Westhoff Burkemper. She was employed for many years at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Manufacturing in St. Louis, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Machinists Union, Local #837. Mrs. Leiling was a member of Immaculate Conception Church near Old Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents,Hubert and Irene Burkemper; one brother, Wayne Burkemper in 2005; her husband, Norman Hunter who died in 1989; and her husband, Mick Leiling who died in 1998. Survivors include her son, Brian Ostmann and his wife, Tammy of St. Charles, MO; two daughters: Gayle Stelzer of Old Monroe and Karla Runge and her husband, Ed, of Old Monroe; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister-in-law, Sue Burkemper of California; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
