Obituary of Eva Irene Schmied

Eva Irene Schmied Funeral Services for Eva Irene Schmied of Foley, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be members of the family. Mrs. Schmied, 72, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 21, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO, the result of injuries suffered in a September 15, 2014 automobile accident on Highway Y near Foley. Born August 27, 1942 in Monette, AR, she was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Wilson and Irene Imogene Gadberry Wilson. She was united in marriage on May 7, 1963 in St. Louis, MO to Lawrence Gerald Schmied. This union was blessed with three children: Linda, Theresa and Larry. Eva was employed for many years in quality control at Continental AFA in St. Peters, MO, retiring in 2008. She loved gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Irene Wilson. Survivors include her beloved husband of 51 years, Lawrence Schmied of Foley; their children: Linda Gant of Warrenton, MO, Theresa Matejka and her husband, Randy, of Foley and Lawrence "Larry" J. Schmied and his wife, Tracey, of St. Peters, MO; six grandchildren: Jill Creech and her husband, Brian, Timothy J. Twiehaus, Jamie Coleman and her husband, Steven, Kimberly Crisp, Jason Schmied and Madison Schmied; and five great-grandchildren: McKenzie Creech, Kaylee Coleman, Kelby Coleman, Ty Crisp and Ryder Crisp. She also leaves one sister, Frankie Jackson and her husband, Art, of Wright City, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
