Obituary of Ella Clara Cappel

Ella Clara Cappel Funeral services for Ella Clara Cappel of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Wright City and Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Michael Kasevich, church pastor, will officiate with burial in St. Paul UCC Cemetery near Old Monroe. Mrs. Cappel, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning, June 3, 2011 at her home in St. Charles. Born November 4, 1924 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Louie and Lydia Wilke Meier. She was a longtime employee of the Binkley Company in Wright City and Warrenton, MO serving as a punch press operator, and more recently of Wal-Mart in St. Charles serving as a customer service representative. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Lydia Meier; four sisters: Dorothy Callaway, Elsie Meier, Irene Krieg and Bernice Callaway; and one brother, Alfred "Hoppe" Meier. Survivors include her son, Timothy R. Cappel and his wife, Mary Lou, of Huntington Beach, CA; a granddaughter and her husband, Ashley L. Cappel and J Ryan McKeachie of Huntington Beach, CA, and a granddaughter and her fiance, Kirsten M. Cappel and Jonathan A. Blackwell of Arlington, VA. She also leaves two brothers-in-law: Monk Callaway and Richard Callaway, both of St. Charles, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
