Obituary of John Patrick O'Brien

John Patrick O'Brien A mass of Christian Burial for John Patrick O'Brien of Fairfield, OH will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry, MO. Fr. Dennis Doyle of Kendrick-Glennon Seminary in St. Louis, Fr. Mike Quinn of Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO, Fr. William Foley of Baltimore, MD and Fr. Raymond Hager of Sacred Heart Church in Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the O'Brien Family Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Ed Hasler, Mark Hasler, Jim Hasler, Tim O'Brien, Ed O'Brien, and Brendan O'Brien. Arrangements are being entrusted to Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Mr. O'Brien, 26, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at his home in Fairfield, OH. Born June 9, 1984 in Kansas City, MO he was the son of Dr. John Joseph and Cathy Marie Hasler O'Brien. He was a 2002 graduate of Brebeuf Jesuit High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Statistics and Economics from Indiana University in 2006. He worked as an actuary for Cincinnati Insurance Company in Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Alma O'Brien and his maternal grandfather, Edward Paul Hasler. Survivors include his parents: Dr. John and Cathy O'Brien of Beverly Hills, MI; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann Hasler of St. Louis, MO; three brothers: Joseph O'Brien and his wife Stacey of Pendleton, IN, Daniel O'Brien of Beverly Hills, MI, and Benjamin O'Brien of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Katie O'Brien of Lawrence, KS, and Tricia O'Brien of Beverly Hills, MI; and one nephew, Hunter O'Brien. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry.
