Obituary of Myrtle Isabell Lindsey

Myrtle Isabell Lindsey A Mass of Christian Burial for Myrtle Isabell Lindsey of Elsberry, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Troy, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Lindsey, Brandon Lindsey, David Lindsey, Glen Moser, Luke Perlow and Brian Gipson; and honorary pallbearers will be Erin Lindsey, Rick Luetkenhaus and Jack Moser. Mrs. Lindsey, 84, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 16, 2011 at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born March 11, 1927 in Alton, IL, she was the daughter of William Wilson and Eliza Jane Anderson Herring. She was united in marriage on December 23, 1944 in Elsberry, MO to Robert Glennon "Bud" Lindsey. This union was blessed with five children: Mearle, Constance, Robert, Richard and Tammie. Mrs. Lindsey served as the cook for the Winfield R-IV School system from 1974-1979. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe; and St. Mary's Sodality. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eliza Herring; seven brothers: Johnnie, William, Lesley, Wesley, Thomas, Kenneth and Bobby Herring; seven sisters: Florence Tayon, Anna Ringring, Malinda Williams, Iva Machulat, Luella Warren, Marie Skinner and Dorothy Vandalia; five half-siblings: Jimmy Herring, Lena Witt, Mame Miller, Ethel Vance and Marie Anderson; two sons: Robert "Bob" Lindsey and Richard "Rick" Lindsey; one daughter-in-law, Lois Lindsey; and her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert Glennon "Bud" Lindsey who died April 28, 2000. Survivors include one son, Mearle Lindsey of Winfield; two daughters: Connie Moser and her husband, Jack, of Moscow Mills, MO, and Tammie Luetkenhaus and her husband, Rick, of Troy; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and she was awaiting her first great, great-grandchild. She also leaves several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
