Obituary of Maxine Allan

Maxine Allan Funeral services for Maxine Allan of Annada, MO will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. John Bateman of Ramsey Creek Baptist Church, will officiate with burial in Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Earley, James Moore, Alan Moore, Nicolas Moore, Joseph Pott, III, Scott Mills and Tim Leahart. Mrs. Allan passed away Saturday morning, January 22, 2011 at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana, MO. Born in Dunklin County near Kennett, MO, she was the daughter of Flim G. and Lora Campbell White. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1968 in Pittsfield, IL to John Douglas Allan. She worked as a receptionist and switchboard operator at Mississippi River Transmission for many years, retiring in 1969. John and Maxine were members of Ducks Unlimited and the Malimar Hunt Club in Eolia, MO. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #349 in Clarksville, MO. She volunteered at the Smith Barr Nursing Home and Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana for several years. Maxine was a member of the Ramsey Creek Baptist Church near Paynesville, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flim and Lora White; one brother, Linn Spencer White; a sister-in-law, Ann White; her daughter, Nancy Reider; and her beloved husband of almost 38 years, John Allan who died June 21, 2006. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Joy Earley of Clarksville, MO; one grandson, Timothy Leahart and his wife, Debbie, of New Braunfels, TX; one granddaughter, Dawn DeLaine Earley of Quincy, IL; four step-grandchildren: Alan Moore of Troy, MO, James Moore, Linda Phillips, and Pamela Shotpouch and her husband, Jackson, all of Jay, OK; and 15 great-grandchildren (including Shane Earley of Tulsa, OK) and numerous great, great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Harold White, Sr. of New London, MO; one sister, Mary Ruth Stroud of Duncanville, TX; special friends, Wilma and Terry Eivins of Eolia, MO and Sylvia and Monroe Elliot of Louisiana, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
