Obituary of Doris Lee Callaway

Doris Lee Callaway Funeral services for Doris Lee Callaway of Foley, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate, with burial in Corinth Cemetery in Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be James Callaway, Keith Aubuchon, Eric Callaway, Travis Callaway, Jeremy Callaway and C.J. Callaway. Mrs. Callaway, 85, passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born November 1, 1925 in St. Charles, MO, she was the daughter of John Carl and Mary G. Schmidt Ferber. She was united in marriage on March 7, 1942 in St. Charles, MO to Roderick Chesley Callaway. This union was blessed with thirteen children: Roderick, Daniel, Yvonne, Rosina, Mary, George, Roy, Dale, Elsie, Marsha, Bruce, Mark and Carl. She worked for many years as a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Mary Ferber; an infant daughter, Marsha Jean Callaway; one sister, Jenny Gray; two brothers, John Ferber and Clem Ferber; and her beloved husband of 63 years, Roderick Chesley Callaway. Survivors include eight sons: Roderick A. "Butch" Callaway and his wife, Bunny, of O'Fallon, MO, Daniel E. "Boone" Callaway of Foley, George D. Callaway and his wife, Linda, of Winfield, Roy T. Callaway, and Mary Lou Clowers, of Foley, Dale P. Callaway and his wife, Tammy, of St. Peters, MO, Bruce D. Callaway and his wife, Theresa, of Winfield, MO, Mark S. Callaway of Foley and Carl G. Callaway, Sr. and Kim Callaway of St. Charles; four daughters: Yvonne McCaw of Troy, MO, Rosina Ruegg of Elsberry, Mary Aubuchon and her husband, Jimmy, of Old Monroe, MO and Elsie M. Hyde and her husband, David, of Winfield; 29 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
