Obituary of Virginia Opal Clarkson

Virginia Opal Clarkson Funeral services for Virginia Opal Clarkson of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Bob Norvel, pastor of Annada Community Christian Church, will officiate, with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Mrs. Clarkson, 79, passed away early Monday morning, October 18, 2010 at the Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry, MO. Born June 28, 1931 in Brussels, MO she was the daughter of Arthur and Clara Mae Wallace Creech. She was united in marriage on March 6, 1951 in Piggott, AR to Tony Roy Clarkson. This union was blessed with five children: Tony, Richard, George, Judy and Suzanne. She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Clara Creech; two brothers: Wallace "Cab" Creech and William "Bill" Creech; four sisters: Nettie Shafer, Levana "Rene" Briscoe, Ida "Seb" Wilkinson and Georgia Creech; and her beloved husband of 59 years, Tony Roy Clarkson. Survivors include three sons: Tony Clarkson and his wife, Sally, of Old Monroe, MO, Richard Clarkson and his wife, Carol, of Elsberry, and George Clarkson of Kempner, TX; two daughters: Judy Douma of Marble Hill, MO and Suzanne Clarkson of Elsberry; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
