Obituary of Twila Sommerville

Twila Sommerville A private Memorial Service for the family and friends of Twila Sommerville of Foley, MO, will be held at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. J. Larry Carter will officiate. Mrs. Sommerville, 76, passed away early Thursday morning, September 16, 2010 at her home in Foley. Born May 25, 1934 in Maryville, KS, she was the daughter of Lloyal and Sally Barnes Mayer. She was united in marriage on June 20, 1959 in Topeka, KS to Lawrence P. Sommerville. This union was blessed with a son, Terence. She worked for 42 years as Director of Flight Operations for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyal and Sally Mayer; three brothers: Jim Mayer, Jack Mayer and Charles Mayer and her beloved husband of 35 years, Lawrence Sommerville. Survivors include one son, Terence Sommerville and his wife, Dawn of Foley, MO and two grandchildren: Blake Sommerville of Wildwood, MO and Kristen Sommerville of Minneapolis, MN. She also leaves one brother, Lloyal "Flip" Mayer, Jr. of Texas; two sisters: Judy Qualkinbusch and her husband, Charles, of Blue Springs, MO and Betty Dultmeier of Topeka, KS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
