Obituary of Clyde David Cassaday

Clyde David Cassaday Funeral Services for Clyde David Cassaday of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Ed Cassaday, of Vandalia, MO, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Kinsler, Kevin Prouty, Dakota Brown, Kevin Cassaday, Jason Higby and Tony Cassaday; and honorary pallbearer, Timmy Cassaday, Greg Cassaday and KC Hunter. Mr. Cassaday, 70, passed away Saturday morning, August 30, 2014 at his home near Elsberry. Born December 3, 1943 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of William James and Mary Hallie Boyer Cassaday. He was a 1961 graduate of St. John's High School in St. Louis. He was united in marriage on April 19, 1973 in St. Louis to Betty Jo Mann. He was employed for 28 years as a machine operator for LMI Aerospace, Inc. in St. Charles, MO, retiring November 26, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Cassaday; and four brothers: James Cassaday and his wife, Lois, Bill Cassaday and his wife, Dorothy, Mike Cassaday and his wife, Carolann, and John Cassaday. Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Betty Cassaday of Elsberry; three sons: Bobby G. Mann and his wife, Pam, of Bragg City, MO, Daniel R. Harmon of Springfield, MO and Tony P. Cassaday of O'Fallon, MO; four daughters: Diane Enriquez of Texas City, TX, Shella Prouty and her husband, Kevin, of St. Peters, MO, Cheryl D. Paluzac of O'Fallon, MO and Marsha Higby and her husband, Jason, of Elsberry; 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers: Charles Cassaday and his wife, Fran, of LeMay, MO, and Leo Cassaday and his wife, Mary Jane, of St. Clair, MO; one sister, Maryann Svoboda and her husband, Ed, of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Pat Cassaday of Hannibal, MO; several other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
