Obituary of Joyce Dean Lasater

Joyce D. Lasater Funeral services for Joyce Dean Lasater of Troy, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Richard Turnbull of Winfield will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Rob Peiffer, Danny Shafer, Charlie Kaimann, Dusty Thornhill, Bill Colbert and Gary Williams. Mrs. Lasater, 78, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at her home in Troy. Born June 5, 1932 in Mayfield, KY, she was the daughter of William Gatlin and Edith Mabel Melvin Paschal. She was united in marriage on August 14, 1954 in St. Louis, MO to Hershel Doyle Lasater. This union was blessed with three children: Kathy, Lee and Todd. She was employed in the Claims Division at State Farm Insurance Co. for over 20 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Foley Baptist Church in Foley, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, William G. and Edith M. Paschal; one sister, Mildred Dublin; one brother, Robert Paschal; and her beloved husband of 47 years, Hershel Lasater, who died December 6, 2001. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy "Kate" Henke and her husband, Rick, of Moscow Mills, MO; two sons: Lee Lasater and his wife, Marilu, of Elsberry, MO, and Todd Lasater and his companion, Rob Peiffer, of Lemay, MO; and six grandchildren: Jill, Jennifer and Daniel Henke of Moscow Mills, and Jordan, Jonah and James Lasater of Elsberry; and one great- grandchild, Emily Henke. She also leaves her dedicated caregiver, Nancy Kaimann; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
