Obituary of Mary K. Dixon

Mary K. Dixon Graveside Services for Mary K. Dixon of Sun City, AZ will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry, MO. Rev. Paul Garven, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church will officiate. Mrs. Dixon, 96, passed away Sunday night, August 24, 2014 at Sun Valley Lodge in Sun City, AZ. Born March 13, 1918 in the Lincoln County community of Davis, she was the daughter of Oscar R. and Nellie A. Norton Guinn. Mary was a 1935 graduate of Paynesville High School. She was united in marriage on August 28, 1950 in Arkansas to Jesse G. Dixon. She worked as a credit clerk for Famous-Barr, retiring in 1980 after 14 years. Mary was an avid gardener, generous to several charitable organizations and lived her life as a faithful Christian. She was a former member of Smith Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Nellie Guinn; one sister, Clara Belle Corum; and her beloved husband of nearly 33 years, Jesse Dixon, who died June of 1983. Survivors include her nephew, Larry Corum and his wife, Susan, of Sun City; other relatives and friends.
