Funeral Services for Esther Marie Freese of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe, MO. Rev. Michael Kasevich, church pastor, will officiate with burial in St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Culley Freese, Darryl Freese, Gerald Hackmann, Jerry Gifford, Eugene Rahmier and Ernie Justus. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
Mrs. Freese, 86, passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 14, 2010 at Delmar Gardens Nursing Center in O'Fallon, MO. Born September 27, 1923 in Old Monroe, she was the daughter of William Henry and Meta Elnora Meier Hackmann. She was a 1941 graduate of Winfield High School. She was united in marriage on April 22, 1950 in St. Charles, MO to Paul Henry Freese. This union was blessed with three children: Gloria, Crystal and Carlton. She was a clean room production technician at Monsanto in O'Fallon, MO, retiring in 1989. She was very active with WINCO for over twenty years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe. She was the first woman elected to the St. Paul UCC Church Council, and she served on numerous church committees.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Meta Hackmann; her brother, Gilbert Hackmann in 2007; and her beloved husband of 59 years, Paul Freese who died November 2, 2009.
Survivors include one son, Carlton Freese and his wife, Paulette, of Alexandria, VA; two daughters, Gloria Freese of Kansas City, MO and Crystal Freese and her husband, Kenton Selsvold, of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren: Victoria Nicole Freese of Indianapolis, IN, Brianna Nicole Selsvold of St. Charles, MO and Paul Cully Freese of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010 at St. Paul United Church of Christ near Old Monroe, MO.
