Obituary of Wallace Guy Briscoe

Wallace Guy "Wally" Briscoe Funeral services for Wallace Guy "Wally" Briscoe of Elsberry, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. J. Larry Carter will officiate at the service. Inurnment will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry at a later date. Wally, 51, passed away Saturday morning, July 10, 2010 at his home in Elsberry. Born May 30, 1959 in Louisiana, MO, he was the son of Joseph Marlowe and Shirley May Ray Briscoe. A lifelong resident of Elsberry, he was a 1977 graduate of Elsberry High School. A licensed cosmetologist, he owned and operated Big Daddy's hair salon for several years. Wally enjoyed decorating and cooking, and even did a little catering over the years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Elsberry. Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Marlowe and Shirley Briscoe; one brother, Michael Briscoe; and one brother-in-law, Bob Carr. Survivors include two brothers: Joe Briscoe and his wife, Peggy, of Elsberry, and Steve Briscoe and his wife, Sheila, also of Elsberry; two sisters: Shelley Carr of Jefferson City, MO, and Maureen Witherspoon and her husband, Max, of Conroe, TX; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
