Obituary of Carl Eugene Knox

Carl Eugene Knox Funeral services for Carl Eugene Knox of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Mr. Knox, 59, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 5, 2010 at Highways U and 61 near Troy, MO. Born October 16, 1950 in Hannibal, MO, he was the son of Woodrow Wallace and Margaret Jean Reed Knox. He was a graduate of Elsberry High School and attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. He worked as a handler/loader for Ozark Airlines, TWA / American Airlines for 33 years, retiring in October, 2009. He worked part-time for several years and full-time since last October as a driver for Davis Redi-Mix. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and Nascar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Margaret Knox. Survivors include one son, Shawn Knox and his wife, Michaela, of Santa Fe, NM; his companion, DeEtte Foster of Elsberry; two stepsons and their wives: Steven and Kari Dietiker of Troy, MO, and Jason and Vanessa Dietiker of Wentzville, MO; two step-daughters: Jessy Melton and her husband, Tony, of Elsberry, and Nicole Foster and her companion, Andrew Parker, of Elsberry; one granddaughter, Bela Knox; and four step-grandchildren: Trent Owens, Dakota Melton, Payton Dietiker and Dominic Melton. He also leaves his step-mother, Edyie Knox of Winfield, MO; three brothers: Ralph Knox and his wife, Anita, of Key West, FL, Bill Knox of Foristell, MO, and Darrin Knox of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
