Obituary of Robert Scott Zumwalt

Robert Scott Zumwalt Graveside services for Robert Scott Zumwalt of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Elsberry City Cemetery. Rev. Doug McGlaughlin, of Troy, MO, will officiate. Mr. Zumwalt, 53, passed away Thursday evening, April 29, 2010 at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born December 23, 1956, he was the son of Robert Lee and Shirley Lenabelle Bunke Zumwalt. He was a graduate of Elsberry High School and attended college at the University of Colorado. He served his country in the United States Air Force from September 21, 1979 until being honorably discharged on September 30, 1999. While in the air force, he worked as an electronics mechanic. He was united in marriage on January 13, 2003 to Patricia Diane Zacker. He was a member of the Elsberry Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Zumwalt; his grandparents: Henry and Juanita Bunke and Herman and Mary Zumwalt; and his uncles: Kenneth Bueneman, Al Bunke and Avery Magruder. Survivors include his mother, Shirley Zumwalt of Columbia, MO; his aunts, Leanna Bueneman and Bobbye Herzberg, both of Elsberry; his uncles, Harry Zumwalt of Elsberry, MO, Nolan Herzberg of Elsberry and Ronald Bunke of Illinois; and his beloved wife of 7 years, Patty Zumwalt. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Joseph R.
